Holy Orders

While He was on earth, Jesus chose men to be His apostles and He passed on authority to these men to carry out His work of preaching the good news and forgiving sins.      (from CatholicsComeHome.org)

Holy Orders is the sacrament in which a Bishop confers on a baptized man the grace of the Holy Spirit and sacred power for the service of the faithful.  It can be administered in three forms:  deacon, priest, and bishop.  It includes the laying on of hands and the prayer of consecration.  (from "Welcome to Our Church" available at the back of our church or at the parish office.)
